Hand luggage is usually extra Julie. I have always thought so anyway. 20 kg for suitcase and hand luggage not usually to exceed 5 kg.
Anyone know for sure??

We recently went to sunny beach.Booked with thomas cook and our allowance was 15kg each. One of the cases weighed 14.5 the other one was 19.5 we was not charged any extra.Although when we were waiting other people were being charged.I know someone who had 2 cases weighing over 21kg each and were not charged either.

I am just back and I paid extra with Thomas Cook to get 20kg allowance - it states on the tickets you are also allowed 5kg for hand luggage.

Be aware, in Bourgas airport on the return they were extremely strict and were charging everyone 7 lev per kg that they were over their limit. A couple of guys in the que next to us were sneaky and they held a strap on their luggage holding it off the scales slightly so it wasn't over!!! Nice ploy if you can get away with it Wink

Thomas Cook have done the same to us this year, Reduced the case weight to 15kg and if we wanted 20kg each it was a total of £30 extra.
We are all being taken for mugs now by virtually all airlines. Mad

I travelled with First Choice on the 23rd May and they allowed us 15kg each, apparently they changed it on booking made after may 2007, so if you booked before then you get the full 20kgs. They also allow you 5kgs for hand luggage, but it's more than enough, we took way too much clothes and didn't go over the weight :-)

Hi

We went with First Choice a couple of years ago and they were strict on the allowance. We were slightly over on our allowance, mainly because we were travelling with an infant and you don't get an allowance for them but they have loads of stuff.

They made us buy holdall bags from them at £15 each and at the check in desk we had to open our cases and transfer stuff into the holdalls to take on as hand luggage. So instead of taking on 1 bag between the 4 of us we had 3 holdalls a babe in arms and a 5 year old and struggled onto the plane.

One time we were on holiday I forgot to pack any trousers for John. He only had the ones he travelled in...we had to go and buy him a couple of new pairs. I still remembered to pack 7 pairs of shoes for myself tho! And you know what? He still goes on about it to this day...Men!
