Eight Bulgarian Beaches Awarded with the “Blue Flag” for 2008

A total of 8 beaches received the “Blue Flag” Award for this year. The winners are the beach of Dyuni, Haramanite Beach in Sozopol, the East Beach of Pomorie, Sunny Beach, Venid Beach in Saint Vlas, the beaches of Albena, Riviera and Sunny Day. Marina Dinevi yacht port in Sveti Vlas was also awarded with a blue flag. The award is given only to the beaches, which meet 4 groups of requirements, namely: quality and purity of water, equipment, management and safety. The “Blue Flag” award is given each year. The flag is of European standard, but is spreading even beyond the European Union boundaries.
